Healdsburg Jazz celebrates Black History Month with a grand Jazz Party in honor of San Francisco’s Fillmore District, which was known in the mid-20th Century as the Harlem of the West due to its wee-hours nightlife fueled by numerous jazz and blues clubs.

A rollicking three-hour non-stop celebration featuring a talent-packed cast of special guest artists in various group formats that will include poetry, photography, art and lots of hard-swinging music. With KSCM DJ Greg Bridges serving as host and emcee, the players include powerhouse vocalist Jackie Ryan, Craig Handy on saxophone, pianists Tamir Hendelman and Tammy Hall, violinist Mads Tolling, bassists Gary Brown, Marcus Shelby and Kanoa Mendenhall, drummers Scott Amendola and Sylvia Cuenca, and poet Enid Pickett.

Also, our friends at Spoonbar across the way will be creating some special jazzy menu items for the night to enjoy at the restaurant or to go!
