Concert for Hope Launches Inequality.com & Domestic Poverty onto Public Agenda
Call-to-action generated by Stanford / Elfenworks in effort to awaken national community to poverty cause
On Thursday, September 6, 2007 the mission of helping to bring domestic poverty to the top of the American
public's agenda was officially launched with 'A Concert For Hope' at Stanford University.
Co-sponsored by The Elfenworks Foundation, the event celebrated the opening of the Stanford Center for the Study of
Poverty and Inequality and their site inequality.com, and also served as a
call-to-action for the Silicon Valley community and beyond to take on the pressing issue of domestic poverty
as has been done with the issue of global warming. Maestra Tammy Hall led the second half of Stanford's
Concert for Hope, with a special arrangement of 'I Shall Not Be Moved' and a new composition 'In Harmony With Hope.'
Hall was joined by singers Rhonda Benin, Valerie Joi Fiddmont, and La Tonya Reed, with Michaelle Goerlitz, percussion and and Don Kane, Bass.

San Francisco Chronicle Pink Section Feature Article on Tammy Hall
"...What stands out most on "Blue Divine" is her compelling lyricism. With an uncluttered, telegraphic style marked by her classical training and deep roots in the Baptist church,
Hall gracefully combines elegance and grit. "

Concert Review - David "Fathead" Newman at Pearl's
"...Newman was joined on this gig by a pick-up band of local talent: Tammy Hall on piano, Michael Zisman on bass and Akira Tana on drums. Hall's blend of elegance and down- home feeling was an especially good fit for
Newman's sound; her solo on 'Green Dolphin Street' was thick and rich as chocolate syrup, and on the following tune ('Delilah'), she jumped easily between uptown luxury and Latin grease.. . ."

Review: Denise Perrier at the Claremont Hotel
"Particularly noteworthy was the excellent cohesion among musicians Tammy Hall, piano; Mark Kennedy, bass; Raul Ramirez, drums; and Bobby Tynes, saxophones.
It's a rare pleasure to experience live, tight music from enthusiastic players and, fortunately for us, this was exactly what we were treated to. --
